APC Dismisses Viral List Of Primary Election Winners

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a purported list circulating on social media that claims to show winners of its recently conducted primary elections, describing it as fake and unauthorised.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement issued on Sunday, clarified that no official list of successful candidates had been released by the APC. He warned members of the public and party stakeholders against relying on or sharing unverified publications regarding the outcome of the primaries.

The APC further stated that successful aspirants will be formally communicated through its approved channels and will subsequently receive their Certificates of Return in line with established party procedures. It urged the public to disregard any circulating reports suggesting otherwise, insisting that such information did not originate from the party.

“The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently-conducted primaries,” the statement read. “The public is therefore advised to disregard any publication or report purporting to announce the outcome of the primaries, as such information is false and unauthorised. Successful candidates would be formally notified through the party’s official channels, after which Certificates of Return would be issued in line with established procedures.”

In a related development, an APC chieftain in the South-East, Dr. George Agbakahi, has dismissed allegations by former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that there are plans to prevent him from contesting the 2027 general elections. Agbakahi described the claims as baseless, politically motivated, and lacking in evidence.

He maintained that there is no credible proof linking the Federal Government or the Presidency to any attempt to block opposition figures from participating in the election. According to him, ongoing legal matters involving the Nigeria Democratic Congress stem from internal party disputes and are already before the courts, not the result of executive interference.

Agbakahi also reaffirmed that Nigeria’s Constitution guarantees judicial independence and provides legal channels for any aggrieved party to seek redress.
