Good Music, Consistency Are The Real Currency In Entertainment – Aayo
Fast-rising Afrobeats artiste Akinde Ayodeji, popularly known as Aayo, has advised emerging entertainers to prioritise quality music, resilience and consistency, stressing that genuine success in the entertainment industry is built on discipline rather than fleeting viral moments.
According to Ireporter Online, the singer made the remarks during a recent media interaction where he reflected on the realities of pursuing a career in music and the challenges many young artistes encounter on their journey to recognition.
Aayo noted that while the entertainment industry is heavily influenced by trends, promotion and social media, outstanding music remains the foundation of every enduring career. He maintained that meaningful songs have the ability to transcend generations and cultural boundaries, adding that authentic music will always find its audience.
The singer acknowledged that many aspiring musicians experience setbacks, including poor reception for their songs and missed opportunities, but encouraged them not to abandon their dreams because of temporary disappointments. He emphasised that perseverance is often the defining factor separating successful artistes from those who give up too early.
Speaking further, Aayo explained that although social media can quickly propel an artiste into the spotlight, sustaining relevance requires consistent hard work and continuous improvement. He urged musicians to dedicate time to refining their songwriting, vocal ability, stage performance and overall artistry while remaining receptive to constructive criticism.
He also encouraged creatives to approach their careers professionally by investing in quality production, branding and strategic promotion instead of relying solely on luck or viral trends.
Aayo further called on entertainers to use their platforms responsibly, urging them to create music that not only entertains but also inspires, educates and offers hope to listeners. According to him, artistes have a unique opportunity to positively influence society and should strive to leave a meaningful legacy through their work.
He reiterated that excellence, preparation and consistency remain the true currencies of lasting success in the music industry, encouraging upcoming talents to remain focused on building sustainable careers rather than chasing short-lived fame.
