Uzodinma Won’t Market Tinubu To Igbos’ – Oshiomhole Reveals Who Should Help

Former Edo State Governor and Senator Adams Oshiomhole has clarified that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma should not be regarded as the sole person responsible for promoting President Bola Tinubu’s administration among people in the South-East.

According to IREPORTERONLINE, Oshiomhole made the remarks during an interview on TVC on Sunday, August 23, 2026, while discussing political developments and efforts to strengthen the relationship between the Federal Government and the South-East.

The senator explained that Uzodinma’s appointment as Secretary of Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council should not be interpreted as giving him exclusive responsibility for explaining the President’s policies, programmes and achievements to the Igbo people.

Oshiomhole stressed that political leaders across the South-East have an important role to play in communicating government policies to their constituents and helping residents understand the direction of the administration.

He maintained that the responsibility should be shared among governors and other political stakeholders in the region rather than being placed entirely on Uzodinma because of his position within the campaign council.

The former Edo governor also suggested that greater involvement from political leaders across the region would help improve communication between the Federal Government and the people of the South-East.

Oshiomhole said, “Please note, the fact that Hope Uzodimma is the secretary doesn’t mean he will be the one marketing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Igbo nation. I believe that every other governor in the South-East also has a role to play.”

His comments come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking to strengthen its support across the country.
