Nigerian Troops Successfully Disrupt Terrorist Operations Across Multiple States, Recover Weapons and Free Captives
The Nigerian military has successfully conducted multiple offensives against terrorist groups in Borno State, weakening their operations. The army targeted areas such as Bama, Gwoza, and Chibok, eliminating several terrorists, including the infamous commander Abba Alai (Amirul Khahid of Alafa), a key target on security watchlists. In Katsina State, the army repelled a terrorist attack, forcing the attackers to flee. A high-ranking terrorist commander in Jibia surrendered and handed over two AK-47 rifles while releasing ten captives, including women and children.
In Zamfara State, troops engaged terrorists, killing one and recovering two motorcycles. Meanwhile, in Niger State, operations led to the destruction of terrorist hideouts and the recovery of 36 abandoned motorcycles.
Troops also raided a known kidnappers’ hideout in Kwara State, where the criminals fled, leaving their captives behind. In Delta State, an IPOB/ESN commander, Ekene Ifeanyi, was arrested, linked to setting up terror cells in the region.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, praised the troops for their hard work and reaffirmed his commitment to their well-being and continued service.
