In a significant stride toward fostering regional collaboration, the delegation of the Egypt the Dream Foundation for Development and Advancement met with Nigeria’s Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting marked a promising step in advancing sustainable development efforts across Africa.

Engr. Abubakar Momoh, an esteemed advocate for sustainable regional growth, welcomed the delegation with warmth and mutual respect. Discussions centered on opportunities for cooperation between Nigeria and Egypt in areas such as sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, and community-driven initiatives.

Highlighting his commitment to regional progress, the Honorable Minister praised Egypt the Dream Foundation for its impactful projects and underscored the potential benefits of applying similar initiatives in Nigeria. “Sustainability is not just an agenda; it is a shared responsibility. Through partnerships like this, we can bridge gaps and drive meaningful change across our communities,” Momoh stated.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Egypt the Dream Foundation, Eng. Mohamed Hagag, expressed the Foundation’s readiness to extend its expertise and resources to support Nigeria’s development goals. “We see Nigeria as a pivotal player in Africa’s development journey. Collaborating with the Ministry of Regional Development opens new doors for knowledge exchange and impactful projects,” Hagag noted.

Next Steps in Collaboration

To ensure actionable outcomes, Hon. Momoh directed the Egypt the Dream Foundation to submit detailed cooperation proposals through his Senior Assistant, Mr. Fohan Fredrick. These proposals will form the foundation for coordinated initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
