“I Don’t Go To Church Or Pay Tithe — I Feed The Streets Instead,” Says Actress Sarah Martins
According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has openly disclosed that she neither attends church nor pays tithe, stating that she prefers to use her money to support the needy rather than donate to religious institutions.
The actress revealed that her acts of kindness, particularly her consistent efforts to feed the less privileged, serve as her own form of tithe. She explained that every month, she spends no less than ₦1.5 million cooking and distributing food to people living on the streets, which she considers her way of showing gratitude to God.
Martins emphasized that she believes more in practical compassion than in conventional religious obligations, adding that her charitable deeds have continually attracted divine blessings.
In her words, “I feel like giving my all to the streets. I don’t go to church and I don’t pay tithe. The only way I pay tithe is by doing charity, and God has been blessing me through that. Every month, I spend no less than ₦1.5 million cooking for people on the streets. That’s the least I spend monthly.”
It would be recalled that the actress recently faced an unpleasant experience in Lagos when she was reportedly chased away while feeding the less privileged. The incident, however, drew public attention and led to her receiving a ₦20 million gift from a well-meaning supporter.
