Nollywood Mourns As Acclaimed Director Dimbo Atiya D!es, Industry Pays Tribute

According to Ireporter Online, Atiya reportedly died on Thursday morning, with the news of his passing announced by the founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, through a post on his Instagram page.

Oloketuyi described the filmmaker as one of Nollywood’s outstanding directors, announcing his death while noting that further details about the circumstances surrounding his passing would be released later.

The news has since sparked emotional reactions from colleagues and fans across the entertainment industry.

Nollywood actor Mofe Duncan expressed his sadness over the loss, describing Atiya as one of the brilliant minds who contributed greatly to the growth of Nigeria’s entertainment sector.

The actor shared a tribute alongside a photo of the late director, expressing his shock and grief over the development.

At the time of this report, the cause of Dimbo Atiya’s death had not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, the family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has continued to reject claims linking her death to cancer complications, describing such reports as inaccurate and unauthorised.

Osoba reportedly passed away on Tuesday evening shortly after speaking with some of her colleagues, with reports stating that she had shared the Yoruba phrase “Ogo Tuntun,” meaning “new glory,” on her WhatsApp status shortly before her death.

Following the announcement of her passing, several online reports and social media users speculated that her previous battle with breast cancer was connected to her death.

However, in a statement released through her official Instagram account, the actress’ family dismissed the claims and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information during their period of mourning.
