Davido Threatens To Involve Trump If Anything Goes Wrong In Osun 2026 Election

According to Ireporter Online, the singer made the statement ahead of the August 15 governorship election, where his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is contesting for a second term in office.

Davido, who has been actively involved in the governor’s re-election campaign, has repeatedly called for a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral process.

Speaking during a live conversation with comedian Carter Efe, the award-winning artiste stressed the need for authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the will of the people is respected during the election.

The singer stated that he would not remain silent if the process was compromised, adding that he would draw global attention to any alleged electoral misconduct.

“I will involve Trump if anything goes wrong in the Osun election,” Davido said.

Meanwhile, an aide to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, has reacted to Davido’s recent comments alleging that an unnamed politician from Imo State planned to influence the Osun governorship election.

Davido, who leads the youth mobilisation team for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign, had earlier appealed to the unnamed politician to allow the election to proceed peacefully and fairly.

Although the singer did not reveal the identity of the individual, he claimed that the person intended to use the election as a platform to showcase political influence.

Responding to the allegation, Nwaogwugwu, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media to Governor Uzodimma, advised Davido to direct his appeal to Osun voters, who have the constitutional responsibility of deciding the outcome of the election.

The governor’s aide described the singer’s remarks as misplaced, arguing that his connection to Imo State through family ties was not enough reason to direct such comments toward Governor Uzodimma.

He added that Governor Uzodimma has consistently supported peaceful, free and credible elections.
