DONE DEAL! Real Madrid Sign Wonderkid Yan Diomande From RB Leipzig
Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of highly rated winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig in a blockbuster transfer reportedly worth up to €140 million, ending one of the most closely followed transfer stories of the summer.
According to Ireporter Online, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has signed a seven-year contract with the Spanish giants, committing his future to the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2033.
In a statement confirming the transfer, Real Madrid announced that an agreement had been reached with RB Leipzig for the permanent acquisition of the talented winger, who is expected to strengthen the club’s long-term attacking options.
Reports indicate that the deal includes an initial payment of €125 million, with additional performance-related bonuses capable of increasing the overall value to €140 million. The transfer now stands as the most expensive sale in RB Leipzig’s history and ranks among the biggest outgoing deals ever completed by a Bundesliga club.
RB Leipzig Sporting Director Marcel Schäfer described the move as proof of the club’s ability to develop elite young talents capable of attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs. He praised Diomande’s rapid development and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
Reacting to the move, Diomande expressed gratitude to the German club for believing in him despite his limited senior experience when he joined last year. He described his transfer to Real Madrid as the realization of a lifelong dream and thanked Leipzig for making the move possible.
The teenager joined RB Leipzig from Spanish side Leganés for €20 million after making only a handful of senior appearances. His impressive performances quickly attracted interest from several European heavyweights, including Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite reportedly rejecting several offers in the region of €100 million, Leipzig eventually accepted Real Madrid’s improved proposal, bringing an end to weeks of intense negotiations. Diomande had missed part of Leipzig’s pre-season preparations as talks progressed before the deal was finally completed.
