APC Chairman Holds Secret Meeting With Emir Sanusi In Kano

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has held a closed-door meeting with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, as the ruling party intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Ireporter Online, the meeting took place on Tuesday at the Kofar Kudu Palace in Kano, with Yilwatda reportedly accompanied by senior party members and other APC leaders in the state.

Details of the discussions were not immediately made public, as the meeting reportedly lasted several hours.

However, a palace source indicated that the discussions were largely focused on the 2027 elections and efforts by the APC to strengthen its political presence and support base across Kano State.

The source claimed that the APC leadership was seeking the palace’s support and endorsement for its candidates ahead of the elections, while also exploring ways to consolidate the party’s grassroots structure.

The party was also said to be interested in leveraging the traditional institution’s extensive reach and Emir Sanusi’s influence within Kano’s traditional council and among residents at the grassroots.

The source further suggested that the APC leadership was aware of the emir’s political influence and his ability to shape public mobilisation and awareness across the state.

The visit comes as political parties begin to intensify their strategies and engagements with influential figures and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
