The Presidency has clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 general election will not undergo a wholesale review, but may be adjusted where necessary.

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made this known during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

According to Ireporter Online, Dare was responding to reports and public concerns suggesting that the campaign council list had been withdrawn following criticism over the inclusion of some individuals.

The presidential aide, however, maintained that the list remains valid, noting that the APC is yet to constitute all the subcommittees that will form part of the campaign structure.

He explained that the outstanding subcommittees would provide opportunities for additional party members and other political stakeholders to be included in the campaign organisation.

Dare stressed that while changes could still be made to the list, they should be regarded as adjustments rather than a complete review.

He said the list was not withdrawn and referenced the APC’s earlier position that it remained in effect.

According to him, the expected changes would be limited to areas where adjustments become necessary as the campaign structure takes shape.

Dare also distinguished between an adjustment and a review, explaining that a review would suggest a wholesale reconsideration of the list, which he said was not the case.

He added that the formation of additional subcommittees would naturally lead to more names being included in the campaign structure without requiring the entire list to be scrapped or overhauled.
