Your Uncle Adeleke Is The Real Arindin’ – Sowore Fires Back At Davido
African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has fired back at Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, following a social media exchange over comments concerning Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to Ireporter Online, Davido had described Sowore as “arindin” after the AAC candidate criticised his uncle, Governor Adeleke, describing him as a leader who allegedly lacked the capacity to effectively govern the state.
Responding through his X account, Sowore turned the remark back on Davido’s family, directing his criticism at Governor Adeleke and questioning his educational background.
Sowore claimed that Adeleke returned to school to obtain a qualification comparable to a General Educational Development (GED) certificate after serving as a senator.
The AAC candidate also criticised the governor’s political support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, alleging that the decision was motivated by the interests of the Adeleke family in Osun State.
Sowore wrote: “The real arindin is your uncle, @AAdeleke_01, who had to go back and obtain the equivalent of a GED after he had already served as a Nigerian Senator.”
He further alleged that Adeleke’s support for Tinubu was intended to protect the family’s political influence in the state, adding that such loyalty was allegedly aimed at allowing the Adeleke family to continue benefiting from Osun’s political affairs.
The exchange comes shortly after Sowore raised fresh allegations about the administration of Governor Adeleke, claiming that the governor does not have full control over the affairs of the state.
Speaking during an appearance on News Central TV, Sowore alleged that members of Adeleke’s family play significant roles in decision-making within the Osun State Government.
He specifically mentioned the governor’s sister and elder brother, Adedeji Adeleke, who is Davido’s father, as individuals he claimed wield considerable influence over the administration.
Sowore said he believed the situation raised concerns about the governor’s ability to independently manage the affairs of Osun State.
The latest clash has further intensified the political and public debate surrounding the Adeleke administration as the state prepares for the governorship election.
