Bruno Fernandes Wins 2026 PFA Player Of The Year Award — Full List Of Winners

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the 2026 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Players’ Player of the Year.

The Portuguese midfielder received the prestigious honour at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony held at the Manchester Opera House in the United Kingdom on Tuesday.

Fernandes was voted the outstanding male player of the 2025/26 season by his fellow professional footballers, beating competition from Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, as well as Arsenal trio Declan Rice, David Raya and Gabriel Magalhães.

The award represents another major individual recognition for Fernandes, who has continued to play a central role for Manchester United while wearing the captain’s armband.

The 2026 PFA Awards also celebrated outstanding performances across the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, Women’s Super League and WSL 2.

A total of 74 awards were presented during the ceremony, while former England international Karen Carney and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish were also honoured with PFA Merit Awards.

Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly won the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award, while Arsenal’s Olivia Smith retained the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year prize for a second consecutive year.

In the Championship, Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough was named Players’ Player of the Year, while Dom Ballard of Leyton Orient claimed the corresponding award in League One.

Aaron Drinan of Swindon Town won the League Two Players’ Player of the Year award, while Lily Crosthwaite of Birmingham City took the WSL 2 Players’ Player of the Year honour.

The PFA Premier League Team of the Year featured David Raya in goal, with Gabriel Magalhães, Nico O’Reilly, William Saliba and Jurriën Timber in defence.

Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice and Rayan Cherki were selected in midfield, while Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo and Igor Thiago completed the attack.

The PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year included Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, with Kerstin Casparij, Tōko Koga, Ellie Carpenter and Emily Fox forming the defence.

Yui Hasegawa, Mariona Caldentey and Jessica Park were selected in midfield, while Bunny Shaw, Alessia Russo and Lauren James made up the forward line.

The Championship Team of the Year featured Carl Rushworth, Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Tristan Crama, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Hayden Hackney, Matt Grimes, Jack Rudoni, Žan Vipotnik, Haji Wright and Femi Azeez.

In League One, George Wickens, Sonny Bradley, Tendayi Darikwa, Perry Ng, Carl Piergianni, Oliver Norwood, Lewis Wing, Jack Moylan, Dom Ballard, Kyle Wootton and Amario Cozier-Duberry were selected.

The League Two Team of the Year included Mathew Hudson, Omar Sowunmi, Kelland Watts, Jack Sanders, James Gibbons, Alex Gilbey, Mitch Pinnock, Sammy Braybrooke, Aaron Drinan, Michael Cheek and Callum Paterson.

For WSL 2, Sophie Whitehouse, Aimee Everett, Neve Herron, Rebecca McKenna, Mari Ward, Emily Syme, Jordan Nobbs, Annabel Blanchard, Lily Crosthwaite, Ashleigh Weerden and Emily Murphy were named in the Team of the Year.
