- Uzbekistan Valentine’s Day celebrations were banned in Uzbekistan in 2012 by the Ministry of Education’s Department of Enlightenment and the Promotion of Values. Instead, the country celebrates the birthday of its national hero, Babur.
- Indonesia While there is no official ban on Valentine’s Day in Indonesia, some regions with conservative Muslim populations discourage or prohibit its celebration due to perceived Western influence and concerns about moral values.
- Iran Iran has banned the production and marketing of Valentine’s Day gifts, viewing it as a promotion of Western culture. Instead, there are proposals to celebrate Mehregan, an ancient Iranian festival.
- Pakistan Valentine’s Day faces opposition in Pakistan, with some groups staging protests against its celebration. The Islamabad High Court has also banned Valentine’s Day celebrations and media coverage, citing conflicts with Islamic teachings.
