Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to comments made by the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, regarding the suspension of the union’s activities in Osun State.

According to Ireporter Online, Davido criticised MC Oluomo after the NURTW leader opposed the decision of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to halt the operations of union officials across motor parks in the state.

Governor Adeleke had earlier suspended NURTW activities, stopped the collection of levies at motor parks and directed security agencies to arrest individuals operating under the union’s name following clashes between rival factions.

Speaking during the inauguration of a seven-member committee set up to oversee the management of parks and garages in Osun, MC Oluomo, through his deputy Aliyu Issa Ore, challenged the governor’s decision, arguing that state governments do not have the authority to suspend the activities of the union.

He maintained that the NURTW is not controlled by state governments and insisted that no governor has the constitutional power to stop the union’s operations.

Reacting to the development, Davido, who is related to Governor Adeleke, took to his social media platform to mock MC Oluomo’s statement.

In his post, the singer criticised the NURTW president’s remarks, questioning his communication ability while expressing support for Governor Adeleke’s decision.

The exchange has since attracted reactions from Nigerians, with many following the ongoing disagreement between the Osun State Government and NURTW leadership over control of motor park operations.Z
