Davido Declares: No Political Pressure Can Stop Adeleke’s Re-Election
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed confidence that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will secure a second term in office despite what he described as political pressure from opponents.
According to Ireporter Online, the singer, who serves as Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council, said the governor remains on course for victory in the August 15 governorship election, insisting that the support of the people would outweigh any political distractions.
Davido made the remarks during the inauguration of the Imole Youth Canvassers for the Osogbo Federal Constituency at the governor’s campaign office in Osogbo. He was represented at the event by the council’s deputy chairman, Kayode Olododo.
Addressing members of the campaign team, Davido urged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation by engaging residents, particularly young people and undecided voters, while promoting the achievements of the Adeleke administration.
He advised supporters to avoid confrontations with political opponents and instead focus on highlighting the governor’s developmental projects and youth-focused initiatives across the state.
The award-winning singer maintained that the current administration has created more opportunities for young people and delivered key infrastructure projects that should serve as the basis for seeking another mandate from the electorate.
He encouraged the newly inaugurated canvassers to take the campaign message to every community and ensure eligible voters are well informed about the government’s performance before election day.
Davido also dismissed the actions of political opponents as attempts that would not prevent Adeleke’s re-election, urging supporters to remain peaceful while working to win over undecided voters through dialogue and persuasion.
