Black Market Dollar Rate Today – August 6, 2026
The dollar-to-naira exchange rate at the parallel market, popularly known as the black market or Aboki FX, recorded fresh movements on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, according to market sources monitored by Ireporter Online.
Information obtained from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos indicates that the United States dollar was bought at ₦1,410 and sold at ₦1,425 in the parallel market.
The latest exchange rates are as follows:

- Buying Rate: ₦1,410
- Selling Rate: ₦1,425
Meanwhile, at the official foreign exchange market, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rates showed the dollar trading within a range of ₦1,361 to ₦1,364.

The apex bank has consistently maintained that it does not recognise the parallel market for foreign exchange transactions. It has advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to conduct their transactions through authorised financial institutions and licensed banking channels.
Market observers also noted that exchange rates may vary across locations and dealers, meaning the actual buying and selling prices could differ from the quoted figures depending on prevailing market conditions.
