Osun Election: Adeleke Reveals Bigger Goal Beyond Winning Governorship Poll

According to Ireporter Online, Adeleke claimed that the two All Progressives Congress (APC) figures used their political influence at the federal level to frustrate his administration and negatively affect residents of Osun State.

The governor, in a statement issued on Thursday, alleged that their actions were aimed at punishing the people of Osun for supporting his emergence as governor in the 2022 election.

Adeleke claimed that the alleged moves affected workers’ welfare and created challenges for civil servants, traders, artisans and other residents across the state.

He said, “On numerous occasions, Oyetola and Oyebamiji have used their influence within the ruling party at the federal level to punish the people of Osun State simply because they chose to vote for us in 2022.”

The governor urged residents of the state to come out in large numbers during the August 15 governorship election, describing the poll as an opportunity for the people to reaffirm their democratic choice.

Adeleke stated that the election was not only about securing another victory but also about sending a message that the wishes of voters must be respected.

He urged the electorate to defend their mandate and reject any attempt to undermine their political decisions.

The governor maintained that the forthcoming election would determine the future direction of Osun State and called on residents to participate actively in the democratic process.
