The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, fans and admirers across social media.

According to Ireporter Online, the actress’ passing was confirmed on Wednesday by fellow actor Alesh Sanni through a post on his Instagram page. Her death comes about a year after she made an emotional return to the entertainment industry following her recovery from breast cancer, a journey she described as one of rebuilding, renewal and resilience.

Temitope Osoba was born and raised in Lagos State before pursuing higher education at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education.

She began her acting career in 2005 and gradually established herself in the Yoruba segment of Nollywood.

Her breakthrough came after featuring in the Yoruba film Oogun Mi, produced by actress Dayo Amusa, a role that brought her widespread recognition.

Following the success of the movie, she became a familiar face in the industry, appearing in numerous productions over nearly two decades.

Some of the films she featured in include Gucci Girls, Igboro Ti Daru, Omo Tee and Twinny Mi, among several others.
