Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has dismissed a viral statement alleging that she accused the church leadership of neglecting her late father’s legacy.

According to Ireporter Online, Adewale made the clarification in a statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, describing the widely circulated report as false and emphasizing that she never made the remarks attributed to her in any form.

She explained that the misleading publication claimed she had criticised the leadership of the RCCG, alleging that some senior pastors were unaware that her father founded the church and calling on the church to do more to preserve his legacy. Adewale, however, insisted that the claims were fabricated and had no connection to her.

The cleric’s daughter stated that her late father never sought earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about having his name, image, or monuments displayed on church buildings or institutions. She stressed that his greatest desire was to make Heaven, not to receive public honour or memorials.

Adewale further noted that the true legacy left behind by her father was the countless lives he impacted rather than physical structures or material possessions. She described him as a man who devoted his life to building people instead of accumulating wealth or establishing monuments in his name.

She recalled that her father lived a humble lifestyle and was even reluctant to own personal property, making it illogical to suggest that he would have been concerned about whether his name was attached to buildings after his death.

The RCCG founder’s daughter also alleged that the viral reports were designed to create unnecessary controversy and division within the church rather than promote the truth. She urged those responsible for circulating the false narrative to desist from spreading misinformation capable of causing discord among members.

Reaffirming her support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Adewale prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and continued guidance for him, his family, and the church leadership. She also encouraged members of the RCCG worldwide to remain united, ignore false reports, and stay focused on the church’s mission as preparations continue for the church’s convention.
