I’ll Ask God Why He Took Me Into Politics” — Peter Obi Opens Up On His Journey

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has revealed that he would seek answers from God about his journey into politics if given the opportunity to question divine decisions.

According to Ireporter Online, Obi made the statement while speaking with supporters during a meeting, where he reflected on his political journey and the circumstances that led him away from his previous comfort zone.

The former Anambra State governor said his current position was made possible by God’s grace, stressing that anyone who finds themselves in a position of responsibility must use it to serve the interests of the people.

Obi explained that although he never imagined becoming deeply involved in politics, he believes that every situation people encounter is part of a larger purpose and should be handled with responsibility.

He said he would remain committed to using his position for the benefit of society and would not misuse the opportunities given to him.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has continued to express opposition to Obi’s presidential ambition, urging Nigerians, particularly those from the Southeast, not to support him in future elections.

According to reports, Umahi made the remarks during an inspection of major infrastructure projects along the Cross River-Abuja route, where he defended his support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The former Ebonyi State governor said his endorsement of Tinubu was based on what he described as the president’s commitment to infrastructure development across the country, especially in the Southeast.

Umahi stated that despite criticisms over his comments about Obi, he remained determined to promote Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that continuity would help ensure the completion of ongoing projects.

He also expressed confidence that major projects initiated under the current administration would be completed, warning that a change in leadership could lead to delays or abandonment of existing developments.

The minister highlighted projects such as the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway as examples of progress under Tinubu’s government, adding that maintenance and security measures would be introduced to sustain the infrastructure.
