United Bank for Africa (UBA) has apologised to its customers following continued disruption to its mobile banking application, which has left some users unable to access the platform since Sunday.

According to reports, the development has affected customers’ ability to log into the application and carry out transactions, triggering complaints across social media.

In a message sent to customers at about 1:51pm on Tuesday, the bank acknowledged the technical difficulty and advised affected users to rely on its alternative banking channels while efforts were underway to restore the mobile application.

The disruption had earlier generated complaints from several UBA customers on X, with some users reporting difficulties accessing their accounts through the bank’s mobile platform.

Some customers said they had resorted to Automated Teller Machines, USSD banking and visits to UBA branches to complete transactions.

The recurring disruption has also raised concerns among some customers, who alleged that the mobile application had experienced similar outages several times over the past two months.

For customers who depend on the application for transfers, bill payments and other banking services, the reported interruptions have caused significant inconvenience.

Addressing the situation, UBA said it was working to restore normal access to the application and urged customers to use other available transaction channels until the technical issue was resolved.
