Tope Osoba’s Family Breaks Silence, Reveals Real Cause Of Actress’ D**th

The family of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has dismissed reports suggesting that the actress died from cancer-related complications, describing the claims circulating online as false, speculative and unauthorised.

According to Ireporter Online, the family made the clarification following widespread reports linking the actress’ death to her previous battle with breast cancer.

Osoba reportedly passed away on Tuesday evening shortly after having telephone conversations with some of her colleagues. Before her death, the actress was said to have shared the Yoruba phrase “Ogo Tuntun,” meaning “new glory,” on her WhatsApp status at about 7:23 p.m.

Following the news of her passing, several social media platforms and online reports suggested that complications from cancer were responsible for her death.

However, in a statement posted on the actress’ official Instagram page, her family rejected the claims and warned against spreading unverified information about the circumstances surrounding her passing.

The statement described the reports as inaccurate, stating that the family was deeply saddened by the circulation of false information during their period of grief.

The relatives did not reveal the actual cause of Osoba’s death but maintained that the details being shared by some blogs and social media users were not authorised by the family.

They appealed to the public to stop sharing unconfirmed reports, noting that such claims only increased the pain being experienced by the family.

The family assured fans and well-wishers that any official updates regarding the actress’ death and funeral arrangements would be communicated through her verified social media platforms.

Tope Osoba was a respected figure in the Yoruba section of Nollywood, with several years of contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
