Osimhen Keeps Turkey’s Top Salary Spot Despite Salah’s Record Transfer Deal

According to Ireporter Online, Salah completed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor that will keep him at the club until 2028, with reports indicating that the Egyptian forward will earn a net salary of €17 million per season.

The deal places Salah among the top earners in Turkish football history and gives him a higher basic wage than Osimhen, who currently earns €15 million annually at Galatasaray.

However, Osimhen’s total guaranteed earnings remain higher due to additional benefits included in his contract. The Nigerian forward’s agreement with Galatasaray, which runs until June 2029, includes a €1 million yearly loyalty bonus and a €5 million image rights payment.

With these additional earnings, Osimhen’s guaranteed annual income rises to about €21 million, putting him ahead of Salah by approximately €4 million.

Although Salah commands a larger base salary, Osimhen maintains the top position when all guaranteed payments and contract bonuses are calculated.

Salah’s contract with Trabzonspor reportedly contains a commercial agreement that allows him to receive 20 per cent of revenue generated from official club merchandise carrying his name instead of a fixed image rights payment.

For the former Liverpool star to overtake Osimhen’s guaranteed earnings, the merchandise deal would need to generate more than €20 million annually, a target considered difficult due to Trabzonspor’s smaller global commercial reach compared with Galatasaray.

The Turkish club reportedly beat competition from rivals Beşiktaş to secure Salah’s signature after negotiations with the Istanbul-based side collapsed over financial disagreements and agent-related issues.

Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad was also said to have shown interest in signing the Egyptian forward, reportedly offering a deal worth around $25 million per year, but the move did not happen.

Salah left Liverpool after a successful spell at Anfield, where he scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, won two Premier League titles and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy before his contract expired.
