BBNaija: Kassia Urges Hopefuls To Enter With A Plan, Not Just Fame

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Kassia, has advised prospective contestants on how to prepare for life before and after the reality show, urging them to have an established business, job or clear career plan before entering the house.

According to Ireporter Online, Kassia made the remarks in a series of posts on X while sharing her perspective on how aspiring housemates can make the most of the opportunities that come with participating in the reality show.

She explained that contestants should view BBNaija as a platform for promoting and expanding what they already have rather than using the show as the starting point for their careers.

Kassia warned that entering the competition without any existing plan or source of livelihood could make life more challenging after leaving the house.

“I think it only makes life harder if you had nothing going on for you before the show,” she said.

The former housemate noted that while many contestants enter the show with expectations of securing lucrative brand deals, she believes it is more strategic to develop something independently and use the visibility gained from BBNaija to grow it.

“A lot of people go in thinking about brand deals, when the smarter thing is to already have something you’re building and use the show to take it to another level,” she said.

Kassia further described the reality show as an avenue to amplify an existing venture, stressing the importance of having something meaningful to return to after the competition.

“The show is a platform. Build something before you go in, so you have something to amplify when you come out. Like the Bible says, ‘I will bless the works of your hands.’ If there’s no work, what is there to bless?” she added.

She also pointed out that adjusting to life after the show can be overwhelming for contestants who have not made adequate plans for their future.

According to her, having a personal career, business or other pursuit before entering the house gives contestants a clearer direction when their time on the programme ends.

“Having something of your own before going on the show is honestly better. Coming out and then thinking, ‘Now I need to figure out my life and what I want to do,’ can be really difficult,” she wrote.

Kassia urged intending housemates to approach the opportunity strategically by identifying their objectives before entering the competition. She disclosed that her own decision to participate in BBNaija was partly driven by her desire to increase visibility for her brand.

She also clarified that there is nothing wrong with contestants maintaining conventional employment, including a 9-to-5 job, and returning to it after the show. However, she cautioned against abandoning a source of income without having a viable alternative or clear plan.

Her comments come as aspiring contestants continue to seek opportunities through the reality show, which has become a major platform for entertainment, publicity and brand exposure in Nigeria.;
