Tinubu Appoints Three Oyo Indigenes To Key Federal Positions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three indigenes of Oyo State into the leadership of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria.

According to Ireporter Online, the appointments were confirmed in an official letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

Under the new appointments, Moshood Akinwande has been named President of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria, while Olusoji Adeoye and Olaribigbe Shiyanbola were appointed as members of the council representing Oyo State.

The appointment letter stated that the newly constituted council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the SGF Hall located within the Shehu Shagari Complex in the Three Arms Zone, Abuja.

The document further explained that the council comprises representatives drawn from various stakeholder groups, including the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors across the states, academic institutions offering surveying programmes, the military, and other relevant sectors.

Moshood Akinwande is a retired director in the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation and hails from Oyo town.

Olusoji Adeoye currently serves as the Surveyor-General of Oyo State, while Olaribigbe Shiyanbola, an indigene of Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors and Secretary of the institution’s Board of Fellows.
