Portable Reveals Why He Wants Boxing Fight With Terry G

According to Ireporter Online, Portable made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds programme, where he discussed his growing involvement in celebrity boxing and revealed his preferred opponent for his next fight.

When asked who he would like to face in the ring, the “Zazuu” crooner named Terry G, insisting that a one-on-one boxing encounter between them would help reignite public interest in the veteran singer.

“I want to fight Terry G. If Terry G fights me, one-on-one in boxing, he will rise again. People will remember him again,” Portable said.

The singer further admitted that his challenge was partly aimed at helping Terry G regain attention, while maintaining that he was fully prepared for the proposed bout.

Speaking about his influence on celebrity boxing in Nigeria, Portable claimed that he played a major role in promoting the sport among entertainers.

“I used my music career to build Nigerian boxing,” he stated.

Portable also made a bold claim about his influence in the Nigerian music industry, saying no Nigerian artiste could achieve international recognition such as a Grammy Award without collaborating with him.

The singer began his celebrity boxing journey in December 2023 when he defeated actor Charles Okocha via a decision victory. He later recorded another win in April 2025 after securing a technical knockout victory over rapper Speed Darlington following an injury to his opponent.

However, Portable suffered his first defeat in May 2026 when he lost by unanimous decision to skit maker Carter Efe during the “Chaos in the Ring 4” celebrity boxing event held in Lagos.
