The Bullet Struck Exactly Where She Was Sleeping” – Nigerian Doctor Recalls Sister’s Miracle Escape

A Nigerian doctor, Dr Tolu, has recounted a frightening childhood incident involving his younger sister, who he said narrowly escaped being killed by a stray bullet about 26 years ago.

According to Ireporter Online, Dr Tolu shared the experience in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, while reflecting on what he described as an unexplained event that has remained memorable to his family.

He recalled that his six-month-old sister was sleeping in their parents’ bedroom when she suddenly began crying. Their eldest sibling quickly picked her up and carried her out of the room.

According to the doctor, only a few minutes later, the family heard a loud gunshot-like sound that shook their apartment.

When they returned to the bedroom, they discovered a bullet lying on the exact spot where the baby had been sleeping.

Dr Tolu explained that the projectile had reportedly passed through several layers of the roof before hitting the bed where his sister had been lying.

He said the family never discovered where the bullet came from, noting that there was no robbery, gunfight or other known incident that could explain how it entered their home.

The doctor said the timing of the incident has continued to puzzle him, particularly because his sister started crying shortly before the bullet struck the place where she had been sleeping.

He acknowledged that he could not scientifically establish why the baby began crying at that particular moment or whether her movement was connected to the incident.

However, he said he personally believes the unexplained sequence of events may have been an act of divine intervention.

Dr Tolu noted that his medical training had taught him to approach events through logic, evidence and cause-and-effect relationships, but admitted that the childhood experience remained difficult for him to fully explain.

Reflecting on the incident years later, he said some of life’s most remarkable miracles may not be the events that happen, but those that almost happen and are somehow prevented.

His account has since sparked reactions from people who viewed the incident as a remarkable escape from what could have been a tragic outcome.
