Renewed Hope Ambassadors Hail Tinubu’s Reforms

According to Ireporter Online, the delegation visited key project sites in Kogi State as part of its ongoing National Media Tour aimed at highlighting significant government projects nationwide. The team inspected the Kabba Junction section of the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway, the starting point of the Lokoja-Benin Expressway, as well as several educational, healthcare and infrastructure projects executed through collaborations between the Federal Government and the Kogi State Government.

Leading the delegation, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, said the remarkable transformation at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, demonstrated the positive impact of President Tinubu’s reform agenda. He noted that the administration’s economic policies had created greater fiscal capacity for states to embark on critical development projects.

Dare stated that education remains one of the central pillars of President Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, stressing that the investments recorded at the university reflected the administration’s commitment to strengthening science and technology education for national development. He also praised the continuity of governance in Kogi State, acknowledging the contributions of former Governor Yahaya Bello and the efforts of Governor Usman Ododo in sustaining developmental projects.

During the inspection of the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway, Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Salami Ozigi Dedaat, explained that the road, which had suffered years of neglect, had been prioritised for completion under the Tinubu administration. He disclosed that the project had been divided into five sections and awarded to different contractors to ensure faster execution while expressing appreciation for the President’s approval of several strategic infrastructure projects across the state.

The delegation also visited the Confluence University of Science and Technology, where officials highlighted multiple projects funded through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). The institution’s Director of Administration, Mohammed Ahmed, revealed that the intervention financed the construction of the Faculty of Science Complex, Faculty of Environmental Sciences Complex, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences Complex, and the Faculty of Anatomy at a cost exceeding ₦2.3 billion.

Ahmed further disclosed that the university benefited from the 2025 TETFund Special Intervention under the Renewed Hope Initiative, which included the construction of a female hostel, maintenance projects, and funding for academic and research programmes.

The inspection team also toured the Barefoot Renewable Energy College and the Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant established within the university by the Energy Commission of Nigeria. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Engagement, Strategy and New Media, Otega Ogra, described the facilities as strategic investments designed to equip Nigerian youths with practical skills in renewable energy technologies.

He noted that the Barefoot Renewable Energy College is only the second of its kind globally after India, while the Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant ranks as the second in Africa, positioning Nigeria to strengthen its capacity in clean energy innovation.

The delegation further visited Kogi State University, Kabba, where officials showcased significant infrastructural expansion achieved over the last two years. Other projects inspected included the Mopa Primary Health Centre, completed township roads in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, and the Kabba erosion control project being implemented under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes initiative of the Kogi State Government.

Speaking during a reception for the delegation, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo, said Governor Usman Ododo’s Kogi Rebrand Initiative was aimed at reshaping public perception of the state through sustained investments in infrastructure and people-focused development programmes.
