2027: APC Dismisses Peter Obi-Kwankwaso Alliance Rumours

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has dismissed the possibility of a Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket defeating the ruling party in the 2027 general election.

According to Ireporter Online, Morka argued that the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso ticket under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) should not be interpreted as a political alliance between the Southern and Northern regions of the country.

Speaking during an interview, the APC spokesman described Obi and Kwankwaso as two individual politicians from different parts of Nigeria, insisting that their partnership does not represent a broader regional coalition.

Morka stated that claims portraying the ticket as a South-North arrangement were misleading, arguing that the alliance lacked the nationwide political structure and support base required to challenge the APC in the 2027 presidential race.

He maintained that while Obi is from the South and Kwankwaso is from the North, their partnership does not automatically amount to a regional pact. According to him, the APC remains a stronger national platform with leaders, supporters and members spread across all parts of the country.

The APC spokesman further described the proposed ticket as a collaboration between two politicians seeking political relevance rather than a movement with widespread public backing, expressing confidence that the ruling party would remain dominant ahead of the next election.

Morka said the APC’s strength lies in its broad national presence and extensive network across Nigeria, adding that the party has built a coalition that cuts across ethnic and regional boundaries.
