2027: Atiku, Obi, Others Can’t Defeat Tinubu — Morka
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has expressed confidence that no opposition presidential candidate will be able to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
According to Ireporter Online, Morka dismissed claims that the presence of multiple presidential aspirants from the Southern region could divide votes and weaken President Tinubu’s chances at the polls.
Speaking in an interview, the APC spokesman said the President’s performance, policy direction and achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda place him ahead of other contenders seeking to challenge him in the next election.
Morka argued that elections are determined by records, achievements, leadership capacity and the confidence of voters rather than speculation or political calculations. He maintained that opposition candidates have not presented policies or programmes capable of matching what he described as Tinubu’s developmental agenda.
The APC spokesperson specifically mentioned opposition figures including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde and Donald Duke, questioning whether they had presented a clear vision or policy framework that could rival the initiatives of the Tinubu administration.
Morka further criticised Peter Obi’s recent comments on national issues, particularly his response regarding electricity reforms, saying that asking Nigerians to “trust” him was not enough to constitute a detailed policy plan or political manifesto.
According to him, Nigerians require clear programmes, proven capacity and achievable solutions rather than promises without specific details.
The APC spokesman also highlighted the party’s electoral successes across various states, including off-cycle and by-elections, arguing that the repeated victories demonstrate continued public confidence in the ruling party.
He insisted that opposition parties have yet to provide a convincing alternative to the APC, adding that the ruling party remains prepared for the 2027 electoral contest.
