Viral Moment As Peter Obi Steps Out For Supermarket Shopping In Abuja

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has attracted public attention after he was spotted shopping at a supermarket in Abuja and interacting with staff and customers during the visit.

According to Ireporter Online, the photographs of the former Anambra State governor at the supermarket were shared on Saturday by Esther Umoh, who previously served as his 2023 presidential campaign photographer.

The development comes months after Obi gained public attention following a viral video showing him purchasing groundnuts at the Utako market in Abuja.

Umoh, in a post shared on her X account, revealed that Obi visited a branch of H-Medix Supermarket to purchase some personal items before engaging with workers and other shoppers.

She described the visit as another reflection of Obi’s connection with ordinary Nigerians, noting that his interactions with people and exposure to everyday market conditions provide him with direct insight into the economic challenges faced by families.

According to Umoh, Obi spent time exchanging pleasantries with supermarket employees and customers during the visit, describing the gesture as an example of leadership that remains connected to the people.

Peter Obi, who served as Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party platform and has emerged as the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
