Timi Dakolo Breaks Silence As DJ Timmy Levels Shocking Claims

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian gospel singer Timi Dakolo has threatened legal action against disc jockey and show promoter DJ Timmy over allegations that he owes £4,106 in connection with a proposed United Kingdom tour. The dispute comes after DJ Timmy claimed on Instagram that Dakolo had promised to repay the alleged debt after requesting additional time, while also warning that he would expose the singer’s alleged private affairs if the payment was not made by Monday.

In response, Dakolo, through a letter issued by his legal representative, dismissed the allegations as false, defamatory and without any contractual basis. The singer explained that the disputed amount relates to expenses allegedly incurred for a planned UK tour organised by DJ Timmy and Revolve Entertainment, an event that ultimately did not take place.

Dakolo maintained that a signed performance agreement clearly assigned responsibility for production, travel, accommodation, visa processing, technical requirements and other logistical costs to the promoter. He stressed that the agreement did not require him to pay any deposit or reimburse those expenses, adding that only approved advertising and promotional costs could be recoverable under specific conditions.

The singer further stated that the tour was cancelled because the organisers allegedly failed to meet the required production standards, particularly regarding sound, lighting and technical arrangements, which were obligations assigned exclusively to the promoter. He insisted that there was no legal or contractual obligation requiring him to refund expenses voluntarily incurred by the organisers.

Dakolo also accused DJ Timmy and Revolve Entertainment of engaging in defamation, cyberbullying, harassment and blackmail through their social media publications. He demanded the immediate removal of all posts containing what he described as false allegations, as well as any publication revealing his private residential information.

The legal notice further requested a public retraction of the statements and a written apology to be published across the same social media platforms within seven days. It also warned the promoter against any further actions that could amount to intimidation or harassment.

According to the letter, failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated timeframe would leave Dakolo with no option but to pursue legal remedies before the appropriate courts and relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
