The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has held a meeting with the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, and a prominent leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Senator Rufai Hanga.

According to Ireporter Online, Yilwatda disclosed the meeting in a post shared on his X account, describing the discussions as productive and focused on the unity, peace, and continued development of Kano State.

The APC National Chairman said the engagement provided an opportunity for frank and constructive dialogue on issues affecting the state, stressing the importance of collaboration among political leaders regardless of party affiliation.

He noted that leaders have a shared responsibility to encourage dialogue, build consensus where necessary, and strengthen democratic institutions in the interest of national development.

Yilwatda further emphasized that Nigeria’s progress would be better served when political actors place the welfare of citizens above partisan interests and work collectively toward the common good.

The latest meeting comes only days after the APC chairman paid a courtesy visit to Senator Hanga, where discussions were also said to have centred on promoting peace, stability, unity, and the future of Kano State.

The successive engagements have drawn attention within political circles, with observers closely monitoring interactions between leaders across party lines ahead of future political developments.
