Atiku’s 2027 Ambition In Trouble As Babachir Lawal Makes Fresh Prediction

According to Ireporter Online, Lawal made the prediction during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he assessed the chances of major contenders ahead of the next presidential race.

The former SGF stated that the proposed Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso partnership stands a stronger chance of emerging victorious, putting their chances at about 70 per cent. He, however, placed President Bola Tinubu’s chances at 50 per cent.

Lawal said he believed Atiku’s chances of winning the election were slim, adding that he expected the former vice president to lose the contest.

“Atiku Abubakar will definitely lose the 2027 election. I pray he loses. I’m not the only one who wants this, but he will surely lose,” Lawal said.

He added that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, when considered together, have a higher possibility of success because of what he described as Obi’s commitment to doing what is right.

Meanwhile, Lawal has also commented on the controversy surrounding a document allegedly linking the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The former SGF questioned how correspondence connected to an organisation without clear legal backing could have passed through a government office without proper verification.

He argued that any agency seeking official recognition or assistance from the government must first have its legal status confirmed before documents are processed.

Lawal explained that while presidential spokespersons are responsible for communicating government positions, official correspondence from federal bodies passing through the SGF’s office should undergo necessary checks to establish their legitimacy.

He maintained that proper due diligence would prevent situations where government institutions become associated with questionable organisations.
