Donald Trump Speaks On LeBron James Been ‘A Racist’ After NBA Legend Joins 76ers

According to Ireporter Online, United States President Donald Trump has reignited his long-running feud with NBA superstar LeBron James, describing the basketball icon as “maybe a racist” while declaring Michael Jordan as the greatest player in the history of the sport

Trump made the comments during a White House news conference on Friday after he was asked to choose between Jordan and James in the long-running Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate. The remarks came just hours after LeBron announced he would continue his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Backing Jordan without hesitation, Trump praised the former Chicago Bulls legend, describing him as a close friend and someone he has played golf with on several occasions.

The US President also suggested that James may simply dislike him politically, adding that he tends to favour people who support him before reaffirming his preference for Jordan.

As of the time of filing this report, LeBron had not publicly responded to Trump’s latest comments.

The two figures have maintained a tense relationship for years, largely due to political differences. James publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris during their respective campaigns against Trump.

Their public disagreement dates back to 2017 when James criticised Trump after a dispute involving White House invitations traditionally extended to NBA championship-winning teams.

Despite the latest controversy, LeBron remains one of the most accomplished players in basketball history. The 41-year-old has won four NBA championships with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, in addition to earning four NBA Most Valuable Player awards. He also holds the league records for the most career points and games played.

Earlier on Friday, LeBron confirmed he would continue his playing career with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he will join a star-studded squad that includes Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown as the franchise pursues another NBA championship.

In announcing the move, James expressed confidence that he could help the 76ers achieve their title ambitions.
