According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Kunle Elebute as the new Chairman of the Governing Board of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN).

The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Elebute, a former Chief Executive Officer of KPMG Nigeria and ex-Chairman of KPMG Africa, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in auditing, financial advisory, corporate governance, and business consulting. During his career, he also served on several regional and global boards of KPMG, including its Global Board Audit Committee.

The statement noted that his appointment comes at a crucial time as the Financial Reporting Council continues to advance key institutional reforms, including engagements under the UK-Nigeria Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership, as well as efforts to align Nigeria’s corporate reporting standards with global best practices.
