VDM Fires At Makinde: “What Are You Doing To Bring The Children Back

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to intensify efforts toward securing the release of abducted schoolchildren and their teachers.

According to reports, the activist on Tuesday led a large crowd of mainly young protesters to the Oyo State Government House, where they demanded urgent government intervention and the safe return of the victims.

Addressing the gathering, VDM said the demonstration was aimed at drawing attention to the growing insecurity in the country, particularly the rising incidents of kidnapping, banditry and terrorism. He noted that while the latest abduction occurred in Oyo State, the security challenge extends across the nation.

The activist questioned the governor on the measures being taken to secure the victims’ freedom, asking when the children would be reunited with their families and what concrete actions the state government had put in place to achieve that objective.

VDM also declared that members of his Ratel Movement were prepared to volunteer alongside the police, the military and other security agencies if additional manpower was needed for rescue operations. He expressed concern over the uncertainty surrounding the welfare of the abducted pupils, stating that their current condition remains unknown.

Responding to the protesters, Governor Makinde assured them that efforts were ongoing and expressed confidence that the kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers would be rescued soon.
