Things Will Change” – Oshiomhole Sends Strong Message To Akpabio
Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has alleged that a significant number of lawmakers in the 10th National Assembly are unhappy with the leadership approach of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking during an interview on the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, Oshiomhole dismissed suggestions that he poses a personal threat to Akpabio, insisting that the issue extends beyond their individual relationship.
The former governor claimed that the Senate President is overly suspicious of him and would exclude him from the Senate if given the opportunity. However, he maintained that dissatisfaction with Akpabio’s style of leadership is widespread among senators and not limited to his own concerns.
Oshiomhole further predicted that the composition and attitude of the National Assembly would undergo a major shift after the 2027 general elections, warning that the incoming 11th Senate would operate differently from the current one.
According to the lawmaker, many senators have privately expressed frustration over the Senate President’s leadership style, adding that Akpabio may be underestimating the level of discontent within the chamber.
“He is paranoid about everything that has to do with me. Everybody in the Senate knows that if Senator Akpabio had his way, he would lock me out of the Senate because he has convinced himself that I am probably the devil he knows. However, there are many agents he doesn’t know, and the 11th Senate will not be the 10th Senate. Senators are grumbling about his style of leadership,” Oshiomhole said.
