Mother Of Arts And Culture Minister, Musawa, Passes Away

According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has been thrown into mourning following the death of her mother, Hajiya Ladi Binta Musa Musawa, who passed away after a brief illness.

The family confirmed that the late Hajiya Ladi died on Saturday, June 13, 2026, describing her passing as a painful loss while praying for Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest for her soul.

In the statement released by the family, prayers were also offered for strength and comfort for relatives as they come to terms with the loss. Funeral arrangements were immediately announced, with the Janazah prayer scheduled to hold after the Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on the same day.

The Minister also confirmed the death in a Facebook post, where she informed the Muslim community of the burial arrangements, noting that the Janazah prayer would be observed at the National Mosque after the afternoon prayer. She further disclosed that the deceased would be laid to rest at Gudu Cemetery in Abuja following the funeral rites.

The family identified the deceased as Hajiya Fatima Ladi Binta Musa Musawa, the mother of the minister, and continued to seek prayers for her peaceful repose in paradise.

Top officials and heads of agencies under the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy were expected to attend the funeral in honour of the late matriarch.

The development comes just over three years after the minister lost her father, Musa Musawa, a veteran politician from Katsina State, who passed away on March 7, 2023, at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness.
