According to Ireporter Online, the development was disclosed by J Martins, the Governor’s Special Assistant on Entertainment and Tourism, who confirmed that the actor has been battling the illness for several years.

In a post shared on social media, he expressed appreciation for the governor’s gesture, noting that the state had stepped in to fully cover McDon’s ongoing treatment costs. He stated that Governor Otti’s intervention reflects a commitment to the welfare of veteran entertainers in the state.

The move comes amid rising concerns over the health and financial struggles faced by aging Nollywood practitioners, many of whom have, in recent years, publicly sought assistance for medical care.
