Galatasaray Turn Down Atletico Madrid’s €120m Offer For Osimhen
Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly rejected a staggering €120 million offer from Spanish club Atletico Madrid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, underlining their determination to keep hold of one of their most prized assets.
According to reports, Atletico Madrid submitted the massive bid as the club seeks to bolster its attacking options amid uncertainty over the futures of Alexander Sørloth and Julian Alvarez.
Osimhen, who completed a permanent switch from Napoli to Galatasaray last summer, has enjoyed an exceptional debut season in Turkey, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards. His impressive displays have once again attracted interest from several elite clubs across the continent.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international delivered an outstanding campaign, scoring 22 goals and providing eight assists in 32 Turkish Süper Lig appearances. His remarkable contributions played a pivotal role in helping Galatasaray secure a fourth consecutive league title while also inspiring the club’s impressive UEFA Champions League campaign.
In addition to Atletico Madrid, European heavyweights including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring the prolific striker’s situation ahead of the transfer window.
Despite the significant financial package presented by Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray remain committed to retaining Osimhen. The Istanbul-based club invested €75 million to secure his permanent signing and backed their faith in the forward with a lucrative long-term contract, reinforcing their intention to build the team’s future around the Nigerian star.
