Nigerian rapper Illbliss has opened up on his emotional journey to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife waited approximately eight years before welcoming their first child.

According to Ireporter Online, the rapper made this disclosure during an appearance on the Outside The Box podcast, where he described the years of waiting as a period marked by hope, prayers, and emotional turbulence before eventually experiencing breakthrough.

He recounted that the news of their first pregnancy came unexpectedly after his wife visited the hospital over a suspected case of malaria. Medical tests, however, revealed that she was already pregnant, a moment he said triggered overwhelming emotions for both of them after years of anticipation and near despair.

Illbliss further spoke about the birth of their second daughter, describing it as another challenging yet ultimately rewarding experience. He explained that the pregnancy occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic and was complicated by premature delivery.

He noted that medical professionals had advised terminating the pregnancy due to concerns that the baby might not survive. However, the couple declined the recommendation, insisting on holding on to their faith and beliefs.

Despite the medical warnings, the child survived and is currently healthy, a development the rapper described as one of the greatest blessings of his life.

“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child,” he said.

“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through,” he added.
