Adelabu Family Breaks Silence After Sister, Twin Sons’ Rescue

The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has described the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, as a strong reminder of the need for unity and collective action in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

According to reports, Mrs. John-Paul and her children were abducted by kidnappers before being safely rescued through the efforts of security operatives.

In a statement released by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family expressed gratitude to God, security agencies, government officials and Nigerians whose support and commitment contributed to the victims’ safe return. They confirmed that the rescued individuals were in good health and recovering from their ordeal.

The family noted that the successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of collaboration, dedication and intelligence-sharing in combating insecurity across the country.

They also commended President Bola Tinubu for his concern and continued commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerians, while acknowledging the support provided by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde throughout the period of the victims’ captivity.

Special appreciation was extended to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command and the state Commissioner of Police for their roles in ensuring the successful rescue operation.

The Department of State Services (DSS) was equally praised for its contribution, with the family highlighting the significance of intelligence-driven operations carried out by officers at the agency’s national headquarters in Abuja and its Oyo State Directorate.

Calling for stronger national cooperation in the fight against insecurity, the family stressed that criminal activities affect all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, religion or social status, making collective vigilance and partnership essential.

They emphasized that sustained collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders and citizens remains vital to improving security and creating an environment where people can live and pursue their aspirations without fear.

While celebrating the safe rescue of their loved ones, the family expressed solidarity with other kidnapping victims who remain in captivity, offering prayers and hope for their safe return. They urged Nigerians to remain united against criminality and continue supporting lawful efforts aimed at protecting lives and property across the country.
