Ex-APGA Guber Candidate Reagan Ufomba Dumps Party, Joins Labour Party

A former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Reagan Ufomba, has officially joined the Labour Party in a major political development in the state.

According to Ireporter Online, Ufomba, who recently exited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was formally received into the Labour Party on Wednesday at Okpuala Ngwa, Abia State, alongside his supporters.

The high-profile event had in attendance Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, as well as top Labour Party stakeholders in the state.

Welcoming Ufomba and his group, Governor Otti described the defection as a significant boost to the Labour Party and an endorsement of his administration’s reform-driven agenda in Abia State. He noted that Ufomba’s move reflected increasing confidence in the party’s leadership and governance direction.

Otti further commended the former APGA governorship candidate for his dedication to the development of Abia State, stressing that the Labour Party remains open to all individuals committed to building a more progressive state. He assured new members of equal rights and opportunities within the party structure, emphasizing that the LP operates on principles of fairness, inclusivity, and equity.

“The interesting thing about the Labour Party is that there is no discrimination. We don’t have old and new members,” Otti stated, urging party members to remain united in advancing the state’s development.

In his remarks, Ufomba expressed gratitude to the Labour Party leadership and Governor Otti for the warm reception extended to him and his supporters. He pledged his commitment to the growth of the party and promised to actively support the administration’s development programmes in Abia State.
