Former Nollywood actress and United States Navy officer, Grace-Charis Bassey Effah, has announced her engagement, marking a new chapter in her personal life.

According to reports, the actress, formerly known as Belinda Effah, shared the joyful news on her Facebook page on Tuesday, posting a series of photographs featuring herself and her fiancé. While she chose not to reveal the identity of her future husband, the images captured her proudly displaying an engagement ring as she celebrated the milestone.

Expressing her excitement, Grace described the experience of finding true love as a dream fulfilled. In a heartfelt message accompanying the photos, she wrote, “Answered prayers. It feels like a dream, but when true love finds you, you melt.”

Although the former actress did not disclose when or where the proposal took place, nor provide additional details about her fiancé, the announcement has generated congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers.

The engagement comes more than a year after Grace stepped away from the Nigerian film industry to pursue a military career in the United States.

In 2025, she made headlines after successfully completing the United States Navy boot camp and officially became a U.S. citizen following her oath of allegiance.

Grace dedicated the achievement to the memory of her late father, Asido Bassey Effah, a retired naval commander, stating that his legacy and service inspired her military journey.

Before exiting Nollywood, she explained that acting had gradually lost the fulfillment it once brought her. She also revealed that joining the U.S. Navy had long been a personal ambition, influenced by her education at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt and her upbringing in a military family.
