According to Ireporter Online, troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, operating under the Joint Task Force South East, Operation UDO KA, have arrested a suspected armourer and logistics courier linked to a series of attacks on oil installations and security personnel in Imo State.

The operation, carried out based on credible intelligence, also resulted in the recovery of a cache of arms and ammunition allegedly used by the criminal network. The raid was executed in the early hours of July 1, 2026, during a coordinated search-and-clear mission along the Akpe Aggah–Egbema Forest axis in Imo State.

Military authorities confirmed that the suspect was apprehended at the Obiakpu Forest after troops tracked activities connected to the armed group operating within the area. Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the suspect served as a principal armourer and logistics coordinator for the syndicate responsible for attacks on oil facilities and military personnel in the Ohaji-Egbema axis.

Items recovered during the operation include one AK-47 rifle, one M4A1 carbine, one M16A2 rifle, six magazines, five pump-action shotguns, one locally fabricated pistol, and a large quantity of assorted ammunition. The Army described the seizure as a significant disruption to the operational capabilities and supply chain of the criminal network.
