The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the uploading of its candidates’ details to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, with several high-profile politicians, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Monguno, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, having received Candidate Affidavit Forms (EC9).

According to Ireporter Online, the exercise follows the ratification of the party’s primary election results, alongside a review of aspirants based on recommendations submitted by the Primary Appeal Committees.

The ruling party also cleared four sitting governors to contest senatorial seats. They include AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, and Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State.

Similarly, former Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, alongside Senators Shehu Sani and Sunday Marshall Katung, were cleared to contest senatorial seats in Kaduna State.

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello also secured the party’s ticket for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, as part of the APC’s list of 109 senatorial candidates.

For the House of Representatives, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, James Abiodun Faleke, and Mudashiru Obasa were among those cleared to fly the party’s flag.

Political parties are expected to upload the particulars of their presidential and National Assembly candidates on the INEC nomination portal between June 27 and July 10. The submission requires Form EC9, which contains candidates’ personal details, alongside Forms EC9A to EC9E, covering various nomination lists and documentation.
