Burna Boy’s Mum Urges Him: Get Married And Have Kids

According to IReporter Online, Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, has advised the Grammy-winning singer to consider marriage and starting a family, as he marked his 35th birthday with close friends and loved ones on July 2.

The advice came during a light-hearted moment captured in a video shared on Snapchat by one of the singer’s associates, Richie 7, where Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, was asked to state his birthday wish.

The singer responded, saying he wished for “good health and prosperity,” after which his mother quickly interjected, urging him to also wish for “a good wife and children.” The comment sparked laughter and reactions from guests at the celebration.

Burna Boy has previously revealed in interviews that his decision to remain unmarried and without children stems from his focus on his music career, explaining that he does not want to have children outside wedlock or be absent from their upbringing due to his demanding schedule.

His mother’s latest remark has since reignited public discussion about the artiste’s personal life and future family plans among fans and observers.

In a separate development, Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has cautioned Christian men against using spirituality as an excuse for emotional laziness in courtship.

According to IReporter Online, Dikeh made the remarks in a video shared on her Instagram page, where she addressed what she described as low-effort approaches by some men when pursuing women for marriage.

She criticized the habit of relying solely on spiritual claims such as “God told me” without backing them up with intentional actions, arguing that such behaviour distorts genuine spiritual values.

Dikeh emphasized that meaningful courtship requires deliberate effort and sincerity, rather than using religious language as a cover for lack of commitment or emotional responsibility.
