The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Sharafadeen Ali and Adesoji Adedeji as its governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the 2027 election in Oyo State.

According to Ireporter Online, the announcement follows the recent upload of the duo’s names by the APC national headquarters in Abuja to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, a move that further confirmed their emergence as the party’s flagbearers.

The unveiling ceremony, which took place on Thursday in Ibadan, was attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, who gathered to formally present the candidates ahead of the crucial 2027 governorship race. The event also put an end to lingering speculation over possible changes in the party’s candidate list, drawing aspirants and stakeholders across various elective positions under the APC platform.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the APC has empowered state governors to oversee the distribution and completion of INEC nomination forms, amid rising concerns and internal disputes over candidate selections in several states. Vanguard reports that although the National Working Committee (NWC) has forwarded the forms to State Working Committees, candidates backed by governors and influential stakeholders are expected to have an advantage in the process.

Speaking on the development, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed that the party had received over 700 petitions arising from disputed primaries. He added that the party’s immediate focus is to ensure all candidates complete their nomination forms before the Independent National Electoral Commission’s July 11 deadline.

According to him, “They are to complete and return the forms to the party for upload to the INEC portal, so making the list public is not our priority now.” He further noted that the party would release the full list of candidates at a later date.
